Notebook #1: For ideas
How it works:
• I always carry it with me everywhere I go
• As ideas come up, I write them down
• I refer to them when I need to write
This simple process allows me to log a bank of ideas as they occur.
Notebook #2: Drafts
How it works:
• Step 1: I commit to writing at least 500 words
• Step 2: Be consistent
• Step 3: In those drafts, ideas and dots start to connect
Quick note: don’t ideate, draft, and edit all in one sitting. That’s a mistake. Do this instead.
Notebook #3: Edit
How it works:
• Avoid editing at the same time you are drafting
• Edit drafts on a separate day
• Once finished, edit out 30%, you’ll unlock some great writing.
Easy, right?
Bonus tip #4: Tell stories
How it works:
• Touch on all 5 senses
• The more emotional, the deeper impact you have on an audience
• Make it personal. There are no new stories. just your stories
