Changing Mindset
How a ‘no’ become a ‘yes’
Divya Tandon said anytime, anyone asked her to do something, the answer was ‘no’
Saying ‘no’ kept her from the unfamiliar. It was better in the comfort zone. It was safe.
Over time, a niggling voice inside her head began to sound. Maybe. Just maybe, she was missing out on something good with all the ‘no’s.’
June 2018 a skydiving retreat was planned for LadyDrinks. Seven women were going to jump out of a perfectly good plane under the watchful eye of member and pro skydiver @MelanieCurtis11. Before the jump, we sat in a circle, as we do before any extreme activity. We all took turns sharing where we were experiencing blocks in our lives. Divya shared that she wanted to change her ‘no’s — — into a ‘yes.’ She wanted to change her mindset.
She had quit her corporate job at Nasdaq. She wanted to become a real estate investor and moved house and home to Buffalo to make it happen. New York City wasn’t yielding the margins she wanted. It was June 2018 and she was managing 10 properties.
Today Divya manages 300 properties. She did something so extreme as skydiving that she jolted herself out of her ‘no’s.’ It changed her mindset. It turned everything into a ‘yes.’
Maybe you don’t want to do something so extreme in order to change your mindset. This Wednesday, our speaker comes to us from the land down under. @tracey_ward_official_account
speaks to us about her 7 step method and tools to build a confident mindset.
