I have owned a business for ten years.
Over that time, I have learned that most people who want to create a six figure business end up failing because they are doing too many things in the day.
They think that being busy is the answer to productivity, and never realize working on the wrong things is what’s actually holding them back. To be honest, it took me quite a while to learn this lesson too.
Here are some of the other reasons I’ve learned people fail at being productive during the day:
- Reason #1: Too many distractions
- Reason #2: Too many tactical to-do’s versus strategic to-do’s
- Reason #3: Not keeping the big picture in mind
Overcoming failure is a crucial part of succeeding, moving forward, and making actionable progress.
But don’t worry: we’ve all been there.
So here is one hack that works for me and has gotten me to a six figure business: I have two pieces of paper in front of me at all times.
- One lists my 3 goals for the year.
- One lists my 3 goals for the month. These three ideally feed up to my yearly goals.
Every Sunday, I sit down and look at the goals and ask myself three questions:
- Where am I? (Unsure I’m working on the right things)
- Where do I want to be? (Working on the things that turn me into a 7 figure business)
- What needs to change? (The right outside set of eyes, ie. a coach that can see what I cannot)
Try it this weekend. It’s been a a game changer for me.
