What is Mindful Selling?

And do you have the systems and processes to do it?

This month, we have dedicated several speaker spots at my women’s platform to sales and sales coaching

Marketing guru Seth Godin shared that successful businesses identify the problem in the market. Their products and services are the solutions to it. In a noisy marketplace, it’s also important to speak to one niche audience.

Sales coach John Livesay shared that the best sales people are the ones who share the best “case stories” versus “case studies” around their success.

This Wednesday, we do a workshop with sales coach Anis Qizilbash.

She is from a culture where women are to be seen and not heard. So selling, in one of her first jobs, was outside her comfort zone. And yet — — she was successful at it.

It’s because she engaged in mindful selling:
What is mindful selling?

Growth mindset versus a fixed mindset. Successful sales people lick their chops at a challenge. They have a growth mindset. What can we fix? What can we act on now? I follow real estate broker @RyanSerhant. In his Youtube channel, he says “Its not about the energy of who you are today, it’s about adopting the energy of the person you want to be. You have to project the energy of the person you want to be EVERYDAY”

Time and space. Do you build space into your schedule to regularly reflect on what went right and what didn’t work? Write it down? One of my members Divya Tandon is a real estate broker. She takes time each week and each quarter to review her goals and take stock of where she is.

Curious. Be an expert who is interested in everything. Do you introduce yourself to new ideas, new people, new books and magazines. I went to the Goya exhibit yesterday at the Met Museum — nothing to do with my business. I learned that his version of Twitter in the 18th and 19th century was to make 100s of prints with his visual commentary on the events and politics of the day.

Keep an idea journal. Even in the shower. I use aquanotes.

Integrity. People who do as they say, say as they do. Respect other people’s time.

Emotional intelligence. You know and understand how you come across. You build rapport easily because you can read a situation.

Buyers want to deal with sales people who are leaders. Prepared, focused, and get shit done.

Join us for our mindful selling workshop Wednesday February 24th at 12pm EST
